Sheep, Shepherds, and Sacrifice
Session Description: Why does the Bible talk about sheep, and not just a little bit, but all the time? Might there be some lessons learned from these awkward creatures about how God is calling us to live? Yet, sheep aren’t the only ones to get a lot of air time; so do the shepherds! Might there be some lessons learned from these humble figures about how God is calling us to serve?
Both roles call us to sacrifice in their own way. Being a follower of Jesus means we must be ready to accept the life of a sheep and a shepherd, as well as the sacrifices that come with either one. Join us as we explore the penfold of preparing for ministry through the lens of sheep, shepherds, and sacrifice.
Bio: Andrew Wiebe currently serves as the Director of Recruitment at Prairie College, which is located in Three Hills, AB. He is an ardent lover of God (and His creation), full time Tolkien enthusiast, unofficial-nonprofessional historian, wannabe gym-goer, and an admirer of culture. Andrew graduated from Prairie College in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Intercultural Studies, during which he spent 8 months visiting 17 countries, and serving in Rome, Italy, for 6 of those.
Prairie played a key role in his ministry training, and now he enjoys the opportunity to lead a team in sharing about the college and the work God is doing on campus. With a heart for God’s mission and a hope to head overseas long term, Andrew, alongside his wife, Susanna, are excited about the ways God is calling their generation to serve locally, nationally, and cross-culturally!
